Automatically resize images when uploading or sending over the internet

http://www.onthegosoft.com/shrink_pic.htm

Today’s high resolution digital cameras produce multi Megabyte photos. These are great for printing but cause a heavy burden when sending over the Internet. We all upload photos to blogs or social networks, email them to friends and family but unless we want to continually resize them appropriately for the screen and web most of us upload the original images and endure the painstaking wait and processing.

ShrinkPic relieves you of this task by automatically resizing the images in the background each time they’re sent over the web. The original image is never resized only the temporary copy that is to be sent. You have full control of the resize settings and the software comes in both x86 and x64 versions to account for 64 bit processors.

pixlr Editor – A free online alternative to Photoshop

http://www.pixlr.com/editor/

Sometimes an online web application really hits the mark and makes you think “wow”. Pixlr is that application. At initial glance the layout, feel and commands make you think you’re using Photoshop and the speed is second to none. If we’re all heading for a Google type OS where everything is done in the cloud it’s applications like this that will be pushing the ideology forward to show what can be achieved online.

Amazingly it doesn’t end there the editing suite of tools are beautifully complimented with a series of filter effects and tweaking that are provided by pixlr Express and if that’s not enough how about a standalone application to right-click your desktop images and import them directly into pixlr or a Firefox plugin allowing you to quickly grab web images or shots and tweak them.

This online application really does hit the spot and I am keen to explore more.
